Liverpool John Lennon International Airport
Airport information

By road: Situated 7 miles south east of Liverpool city centre and just 5 minutes from the nearby motorway network, Liverpool John Lennon Airport is well signposted from the M6, M62, M56 and M57 motorways.

From the North/North East: M6 southbound to junction 21A with M62. Follow M62 west to junction 6 onto the A5300 to the A561 and follow signs to airport, situated off Speke Hall Avenue.

From the South/East: M6 northbound to junction 20 with M56. Follow M56 to junction 12 onto A557/A562 dual carriageway via Runcorn Bridge to merge with A561. Follow signs to airport, situated off Speke Hall Avenue.

From the Wirral and North Wales: In the rush hour use the M53 and then the M56 (as instructions from the south/east) rather than through the city centre. If you're travelling from North Wales join the A55/A550 to connect with the M56 eastbound, then follow instructions as from the east.

Main car parks are NCP and situated adjacent to the Terminal Building. There is a pay and display facility for pick-up and set-down.

By taxi: A taxi rank is located directly outside the entrance to the airport terminal. The journey into the city centre is 7 miles and takes approximately 20 minutes.

By bus: The Number 500 service makes use of the brand new "Smart Bus" which is suitable for wheelchair and pram users, as well as having plenty of luggage space for bulky suitcases.

With a journey time of just 20-25 minutes between the airport and the heart of Liverpool, the service is ideal for all city centre facilities including Lime Street train station and Paradise Street bus station, as well as many hotels and tourist attractions. The service runs every half an hour in both directions - at 15 minutes and 45 minutes past the hour directly outside the terminal building at the airport, and at 25 minutes and 55 minutes past the hour outside Lime Street station in the city centre. The one-way fare for adults is £2, and only £1 for children. A family ticket is available for just £5, covering up to two adults and four children. Local Saveaway tickets, Trio passes and Zone tickets are also valid for this route.
